What is a Betty?

Betty is the term used to describe an amazing person who you can depend on. Betty is also a term for "sweet and loving girl." The more you get to know her, the more you love being around her. She has a good sense of humor and has a cute laugh. She's chill yet hard working as well as kind and considerate. Betty lights up the room and lights up my life. She's always happy and cheerful. She's also cuddly, independent and smart. She appreciates the simple things in life and can make anything good out of a bad situation. -Urban Dictionary

CAbi Party

A girl's evening trying on clothes, sipping wine and eating!  What more could a Betty ask for?  Well, attending a CAbi Party was great fun Friday night and included all of the above.  Thanks Sara for a great evening as you wonderfully hosted the fall fashions in the comfort of your home.

Our CAbi expert for the evening Bobbi, rolled out the fall line and went through each piece explaining the details while we followed along in our catalogs.  She even called on a few of us to try on the pieces and "model."

A busy lady right?  This was like having a personal shopper!

After we were introduced to the line of clothing we grabbed the things we liked and started trying them on.  Nothing more valuable than the opinion of your girlfriends!  Bobbi took our orders and we said our goodbyes.  The exchange/return policy is great and you get your clothing within a few days. My last order was delivered to me hanging nicely in a garment bag.  And the quality of this clothing is out of this world.  The fabrics feel so good!

Never heard of CAbi (Carol Anderson by invitation)?  Well, see the website for details and the latest looks at http://bobbifisher.cabionline.com.  Here are just a few of our favorites.

So many classic looks with a new twist.  We encourage you to go on-line and see for yourself!

We can't wait for the cooler temps to hit!

Meet the Kids/Back-to-School

Last week we welcomed another school year and of course had to document the first day.  Here are the kiddos and a long over-due intro to some of them:

Stacie's kiddos

Tuck, we first introduced him in this post:  He is in the 5th grade and enjoys art...he can draw just about anything!

Next up S, who is Stacie's youngest and growing fast! She loves dance and is in the 3rd grade this year.

And Stacie's oldest, H.  She is a freshman in high school and is a cheerleader.

Next up, Dana's boys:

"J-man," Dana's middle son is in the 4th grade and plays football.

Mr. B, the oldest, is in 6th grade and loves baseball, Go D-Backs!

T, the baby by 10 minutes, is a class clown and started Kindergarten this year.

And finally R, who also started Kindergarten and loves Legos.

What a joy to watch these kids grow!  The Betties have had such a history together.  We can remember well the day that eachother's kids were born...visits to the hospital and holding the other's newborns.  Cheering one another on in this thing called motherhood.  Truly a gift to know someone for so long and we realize more and more that these friendships are far and few between!

We wish everyone a successful school year!

She wanted something different so, in the midst of all thses boys skateboarding was this blue-eyed cutie! She is a dream to photograph, with a great smile and beautiful eyes! She just had to share!

Back to School Lunch Ideas

Turkey and cheese roll ups on a multigrain tortilla, pretzel rods, chedder bunnies, strawberries and raisins. Thanks to Amanda of lunchbox limbo http://bit.ly/dkmSjJ for this one!

Need a little motivation to get creative and healthy with back to school lunches this fall?  We stumbled across this great little site with actual pictures of lunch combos for the kids. HUNDREDS of ideas!
Thank you easylunchboxes.smugmug.com/

An egg salad wrap on whole grain tortilla on top of a bed of lettuce with a few onion, cucumber & tomato bits around it. I put salad dressing in a little container and my thought was he could make a very small salad once he took out the wrap. To the right, he has a homemade muffin and a mixture of fresh fruits. Thanks to Shannon of What's For Lunch at Our House: http://bit.ly/9G1O0uThe presentation is everything. Look how fancy this one is!

The containers pictured above can be purchased here at easylunchboxes.com.  A set of 4 runs 13.95
